躲過淘汰、打出本季最低桿，第四輪Tiger Woods卻又戲劇性地退賽，因為背傷又開始作祟，還可能影響下週的行程。

世界排名第一的Woods，第四輪在打完第十三洞，與同組的Luke Guthrie握手後就離開了比賽，前9洞的成績相當慘烈，有4個柏忌和1個雙柏忌，並抓下1隻小鳥。

他搭上白色球車到了停車場，在那裡兩個小孩Sam 與Charli、女友Lindsey Vonn和桿弟Joe LaCava加入他的行列，準備前往離球場不遠的住處。

Woods表示，熱身的時候，他下背部有抽筋現象，也不確定是否能參加下週的凱迪拉克錦標賽，他是去年冠軍。

「現在談這個還太早。」Woods說，目前重點是快搞定他的背傷，「我接著要冷靜處理這個問題，直到下週四，就看看到時候會怎樣再說吧。」

今年賽季Woods並沒有花太多時間在練習，而是在處理他身上的傷勢，這場他打完第九洞時，曾用手摸他的背，然後試著在轉場時做些伸展舒緩，但顯然無法幫他撐完18洞。
