照壁。
照壁，是中国传统建筑特有的部分。明朝时特别流行，一般讲，在大门内的屏蔽物。古人称之为：“萧墙”。因而有萧墙之说。在旧时，人们认为自己宅中不断有鬼来访，修上一堵墙，以断鬼的来路。因为据说小鬼只走直线，不会转弯。另一说法为照壁是中国受风水意识影响而产生的一种独具特色的建筑形式，称“影壁”或“屏风墙”。
