足以代表VOLVO這個瑞典品牌跨出全新一步的新世代VOLVO XC90，在9月3日發表的同時，事實上也開始邁向VOLVO的未來之路。事實上在XC90發表的當下，原廠即推出所謂的First Edition全球限定版本，以限量1927輛的數字向創立VOLVO的Assar Gabrielsson與Gustaf Larson兩位創辦人致敬。利用網路預購的方式，這1927輛的XC90 First Edition開創了車壇史無前例的銷售手法，而台灣總代理國際富豪汽車也以383萬元提供給台灣消費者上網選購，不過手腳太慢的消費者如今也只能望網頁興嘆了。
