高雄氣爆災區不僅造成周邊店家營業損失，店內聘僱的勞工，也因停工或失業煩惱收入無著，高雄市勞工局18日表示，自8月20日起將受理申請「停止工作慰助金」及「停工生活慰助金」，協助勞工減輕家庭經濟負擔。勞工局即日起也將派員至災損店家，一一說明店家所僱勞工申請慰助金辦法。詳情可洽07-8124613轉430。

勞工局指出，凡申領經發局發放營損補助的店家，其僱用的勞工停止工作或失業，每人將發放「停止工作慰助金」1萬元；已申請該項慰助金者，自8月11日起，依實際停工日數計算，每日可加領「停工生活慰助金」460元（115元/時×4小時），每月最高可領1萬0120元（115元/時×88小時），至市府宣布該區道路開放通車，或離職為止。
