超越南非 奈及利亞躍升為非洲最大經濟體

奈及利亞政府周日首度公布該非洲最多人口國家的全面性經濟情況顯示，奈國已超越南非，成為非洲最大經濟體。

國家統計局說，2013年，奈及利亞名目國內生產毛額(GDP)為5100億美元，較原先估計高出89%，較南非GDP高出1900億美元。這讓奈及利亞成為世界第26大經濟體。

「這並不表示一夜之間出現了奇蹟，我們變好了或惡化了，」統計局長Yemi Kale說。

周日公布的資料，是自1990年以來，首度對奈及利亞經濟進行的全面性衡量。過去五年，數千名政府調查人員或徒步，或騎摩托車，或搭乘快艇，穿越奈及利亞，以獲得該非正常經濟體的最新情況。

奈及利亞超越南非，主因在於由銀行業至線上採購，已透過電信業的進展而加速。1990年，奈及利亞僅有200條電話線，現在奈及利亞擁有1.2億隻手機。經濟活動爆發性成長，彌補了奈及利亞不佳的製造業與農業。
