休士頓火箭2日主場迎戰底特律活塞，雖然替補火力不若首節先發球員兇猛，靠著全隊8人得分，上半場還是以69：46大幅領先。

第2節，火箭照慣例讓台裔後衛「哈佛小子」林書豪搭配Patrick Beverley，與「D-Mo」Donatas Motiejunas、Omri Casspi等一票替補穩住首節的20分領先。

火箭領先到連板凳深處的Omer Asik都提前在此時亮相，不過他著名的「奶油手」重出江湖，頻頻將隊友包括林書豪傳的球弄丟。

活塞打來有氣無力，只能靠著Rodney Stuckey、Josh Smith零星單打取分，防守又經常「漏後門」讓火箭有輕鬆得分的機會。

上半場最後30秒，「魔獸」Dwight Howard「吃人一口，還人一斗」，高吊球給Terrence Jones完成一次「空接爆扣」，High翻全場，Howard也笑了出來。
