針對馬總統今（1）日以「全民團結拚經濟」為題發表元旦祝詞內容，民進黨發言人張惇涵表示，這已經是馬英九不知道第N次說要拚經濟了，令人遺憾的是，總統的承諾從未實現過。

張惇涵表示，大家今天還從電視畫面看到，馬英九的祝詞講不到一半，電視台就紛紛切換畫面重播「姐姐」或其他藝人的演出。這一窘況凸顯國人對馬英九的失望與不耐，「現在還有人在乎他的口號、相信他的口號嗎」？

此外，對於大陸國家主席習近平新年談話提及兩岸與台灣部分，民進黨政策會執行長吳釗燮以「六個希望」回應。吳釗燮說，民進黨希望兩岸人民都可以更幸福、希望兩岸人民可以更自由、希望兩岸政府更體恤人民，民進黨也希望台灣人民免於軍事威脅，希望台灣人民參與國際事務不再受到打壓，希望台灣人民的意願都能受到尊重。
