LAND ROVER在英國康沃爾郡以純電力驅動的Defender進行「Eden Project」測試計畫，該實驗將會以Defender拖著總重達到12頓的四節車廂，並且乘載60位乘客，在斜坡爬升道上進行拖拉作業實驗，以實現零排放未來綠能科技藍圖，並作為未來電動車研發上的參考依據。而為了持續在綠能動力系統上添注心力， LAND ROVER宣布將參與英國政府一項總預算1630萬英鎊（約新台幣7.6億）的投資計劃以研發新世代的Hybrid及電動系統總成的節能計畫。
