科技媒體《AppleInsider》報導，蘋果(AAPL-US)長期的合作夥伴富士康傳出，正在測試一款新的iPad，據傳這款iPad 尺寸螢幕將達11.4吋或12.9吋左右，為特大型，預估將於明(2014)年3月上市。

今年7月，《華爾街日報》曾報導，未來蘋果可能將推出超大尺寸的「iPad maxi」，螢幕尺寸僅較13吋稍小。此外，市場也傳出蘋果可能將找老夥伴廣達(2382)合作生產這款超大螢幕iPad。廣達曾經和蘋果合作生產iPod，最近的MacBook Air也是由廣達代工。

 分析師預期看到蘋果能推出大尺寸的變形平板。巴克萊證券分析師Ben A. Reitzes指出，未來蘋果若真的推出13吋的iPad，預計將也可能使用類似變形平板的設計，而這也可能是iPhone 5S首先搶用A7 64位元處理器的原因。
