Microsoft Windows 8.2 將於 2014 年 1 月推出，進一步加強「開始」按鈕的功能。

雖然許多人都仍未升級到 Windows 8，不過 Windows 8.1 也即將過時。Microsoft 25 日傳將於明年 1 月推出 Windows 8.2，將進一步改善「開始」按鈕的功能。

Microsoft 已經在 Windows 8.1 中將許多人懷念的「開始」按鈕加回來，不過功能並不如許多人的期待，而是讓使用者可以在按下「開始」按鈕時，叫出 Metro 介面來，而要叫出原本「開始」功能表的功能，則得要按下滑鼠右鍵。而在 Windows 8.2 中，「開始」按鈕則會以類似 Windows 7 的方式運作。

Windows 8.2 將和 Windows 8.1 一樣，可以免費從 App Store 中升級。另外 Windows 8.2 也傳將更新 Internet Explorer 11 的功能。
