彭博社報導，蘋果已貼出徵才公告，要為北京分公司招聘熟悉中國移動自行研發的TD-SCDMA/TD-LTE通訊技術的經理工程師，暗示兩家公司離攜手合作的時間已經不遠了，若真的成案，iPhone手機在大陸市佔率將有望大耀進。

彭博社向中國移動公關部門查證證實，雙方的確有過討論合作，但拒絕透露進一步的訊息。

據統計，大陸手機用戶數為12億戶，其中中國移動囊括了超過6成(7.4億戶)的市佔率，這對想在大陸開疆闢土的蘋果自然形成無法抗拒的吸引力。

蘋果9月為iPhone 5s/5c揭幕造勢時，還曾首度越洋飛到北京舉辦新機發表會，顯示對大陸市場重視的程度。蘋果第三季財報也顯示，大陸市場佔蘋果營收比重排名居第三位，僅次於美國與歐洲。
