（軍聞社記者劉育然臺北三日電）為完整記錄半世紀以來國軍捍衛南海疆土，維護國家主權的艱辛歷程，國防部最新出版《南疆屏障．南海駐防官兵訪問紀錄》乙書，書中透過十八位曾經參與重新駐防與後來駐守島上官兵現身說法，期能引領讀者瞭解國軍長年致力固守國土南疆的耕耘與奉獻，彰顯國軍守疆衛土決心。

　國防部政務辦公室史政編譯處歷時近一年時間，完成《南疆屏障．南海駐防官兵訪問紀錄》一書出版，內容主要以人物訪談為主軸，同時參考國軍史料及有關書籍編成，內容詳盡，可使民眾共同見證國軍官兵在複雜情勢環境下，堅守崗位達成使命過程。

　其中，該書特別收錄民國卅五年時任中業艦艦長的前海軍副總司令李敦謙中將，撰寫的「艱險定疆奇功立—進駐南沙群島紀實」內容，說明當時海軍官兵如何穿越惡劣海象，順利在抗戰勝利後重登太平島的艱險經過，並以此作為當年國軍最早前往收復南沙群島的證明。

　此外，國防部長嚴明在書中序文強調，早期駐守東沙島與太島的國軍官兵，均能自立自強竭誠為國奉獻，成就南海屏障，其堅定守護國土忠貞志節，殊值肯定及嘉勉；嚴部長也以此期許全體官兵應緬懷與傳承前輩堅忍奮發的愛國情操，做國家安全最堅強後盾。
